Gill is the Country Director of Oasis Uganda, a locally registered NGO which was set up to run projects which show God’s love in action through providing holistic care to vulnerable children and their families living in communities where there is emotional, spiritual, economic and social poverty. She first went to Uganda under a SMILE / Oasis joint venture in 2001, and consequently returned in 2002 to work with the Bambejja Programme, which focuses on caring for vulnerable and orphaned girls, as well as providing support to the short term mission teams coming to Uganda. She continued working for Oasis Uganda in various capacities until she became the Country Director in July 2007.
Oasis also runs Net2Work, providing IT and job skills training to out-of-school youth; Beersheba, providing holistic care to vulnerable girls and the wider community in Mbale, Eastern Uganda; and Esteem, a HIV and AIDS education and prevention programme based on biblical values run in schools and projects.
Gill and Carlos attend Calvary Chapel Kampala where Gill is a member of the choir and they both minister as part of the prayer team. Carlos is also actively involved in missions at their church, particularly to the North of Uganda, while he develops a business providing computer networking and web design.
