Advancing Ministries of the Gospel (AMG) Uganda David Otema and Jane Namilimu are two Ugandan Bible teachers. Through partnership with Crosslinks over the last year and a half they have been being trained to take over from Crosslinks Mission Partner Steve Smith as Curriculum and Training Directors for AMG. David will have responsibility for training youth leaders while Jane will be in charge of the children's programme. Since January 2008 David and Jane have been working alongside Steve Smith assisting him in the task of equipping the Bible teachers to proclaim God’s word faithfully, clearly and engagingly to children and young people in Uganda. After Steve’s return to the UK in summer 2009, David and Jane will take over full responsibility for these roles. The Project Advancing Ministries of the Gospel is an international, Christian non-denominational organisation operating in more than 50 countries in the world. Its vision is taken from Colossians 1:28: “We proclaim Christ, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” In Uganda the main ministry of AMG is church-based child sponsorship with a desire to reach the families and the wider community with God’s Word. Crosslinks Mission Partner Steve Smith has been working as Training and Curriculum Director with AMG. He ran a ministry training scheme for all the teaching staff of AMG, aimed at equipping them with the Bible teaching skills required for a life of church-based ministry with children in the Child Development Centres that AMG initiates. Now that Steve has returned to the UK it is crucial that this important work is able to continue. David and Jane are those who have been trained to take over from Steve. Since January 2008, and David and Jane have helped Steve in the task of equipping the project teachers to proclaim God’s Word to children, while also learning alongside the other teachers. They will continue to be actively involved in teaching children God’s Word with AMG, and will start evaluating the new training and curriculum across all the projects that AMG run. From January 2010 they will take over full responsibility for training and resourcing of AMG teachers.
