Zimbabwe Theological College

What is the Project?

The Theological College of Zimbabwe, TCZ, exists to develop Christian leaders committed to effective leadership and ministry in both the church and society. However, whilst the men are being theologically trained, in the past their wives have received little or no training. This is despite the fact they often go on to take important leadership roles in churches, especially as most church congregations are 70% women.

The aim of this project is to run a study programme for the women at the college to help equip them for local church ministry. The Zimbabwean church will place many expectations on them, irrespective of their training, so it essential that they are well-prepared to serve the church.

This project is to fund a full-time worker to establish and sustain this course over a number of years, along with funding the lecturers needed to teach the course. The Co-ordinator’s job is to manage and administer the course, and to help develop it further over time. Current TCZ lecturers will be at the heart of the course as they teach the wives, and these faculty members will be continually trained and reviewed, as well as helping the course evolve.

Objectives

Over the next three years, it is hoped that the Lord will have enabled the following to be achieved through this initiative:

To have developed a full curriculum for the effective training of women at TCZ, and therefore to help equip for ministry all women at the College.

To have achieved local ownership, management and financial security so that the study programme is sustainable for many years to come.

To impact the church of Zimbabwe by equipping these women for service in helping encourage, support and minister to the many people in the nation who need the hope of the Gospel.
